Alyeska Aerial Tram

The Alyeska Resort, in Girdwood, 27 miles from Anchorage, is the largest ski area in Alaska. The tram is a three to even minute ride from the resort hotel to the top of Mt. Alyeska at 2300'. It gives views of Turnagain Arm, seven hanging glaciers, and the Chugach Mountain range. The Swiss-built sixty-passenger cars operate on a counterbalance system, one going up while the other goes down.
